                                 A lot has been going on first the 6th grade science fair is taking place next Thursday so I am pretty nervous about that.  I have a descent amount of homework, we are working on tertiary words.  Did I mention that I got my room redecorated it is amazing, my room used to be pink but, now it is Costa Rica blue because as I get older I see life as simple, conservative and relaxing.  The color blue makes me feel like I am floating in the sky. I always get such a serene feeling.

                                 I sincerely apologize for not blogging for the past few days.  The reason why is because I have been in Broadview, Illinois for a radio interview,  which went absolutely superb!  I had such a wonderful time at the radio interview!  We left for Broadview on Thursday an came back on Sunday at 1:00 AM so I had to miss school ( not good ).  At the hotel we swam a lot ,  I LOVE SWIMMING!  we also went to the "Field Museum" ( A great educational experience  my favorite part was the African exhibit, considering I am South African:)

                      I am getting ready for a speaking engagement at the Lansing Mall I can not wait.  For some odd reason I am not nervous at all, in fact I am quite relaxed (that is very much not like me).  My birthday was wonderful,  Thursday I brought cupcakes to school and ate cake at home.  My mother also took me shopping for clothes.  My sister threw me a surprise party and bought me gifts and I was so proud it just touched me by how much she really cares about me.  She may not show it all the time but I know she loves each and every one of us in our family.  What a surprise shes only 8 years old to.

                          My birthday is tomorrow I can not wait! I finished my Mesopotamia project a week early so that's less stress.  For my birthday I am taking cupcakes to school and going to see my old 5th grade teacher I can not wait!  Today I would have had school but the power around where I live, which is by the school went out.  I really am leaving hints to my parents about the I Pod Touch 5 that  I want I really hope I get it plus a few other things!  My sister is going to give me a present that I know I will like, not because of what it is but because of the thought.  I love her very much!

                        I can not wait! My birthday is on Thursday!  My parents said they were going to surprise, me I cannot wait.  Plus on Saturday I think my Mother sister and I are going to a hotel together so we can bond and swim and have fun together!  My project on ancient Mesopotamia is going awesome so far.  So it has been just wonderful!  My father is recovering great from surgery and our family is ready for Spring...  I hope you are too!

                                       I sincerely apologize for for blogging for these few days.  I have been busy with school work and helping take care of my father because of this Hernia surgery.  So let me up date on what I have been doing today.  SO today was picture day the day I dread the most.  Let me tell you why, the previous night I spent the time that I could have been using to do school work worrying about what I am going to do and wear.  I have to also get working on my research project on Mesopotamia.

Dear Blog,
                              A few days ago my father had surgery. The reason why he had surgery is because he had something called a Hernia. A Hernia is when a organ or tissue goes through a weak spot in a mussel or something like that. Fortunately my father got it fixed before it got to bad and  life-threatening  He is recovering pretty well though it looked pretty painful. His surgery also went smooth.  My dad was walking right after he got surgery (he is not supposed to)! Isn't that crazy? Anyway I have been praying for him and will continued to do so until he is fully recovered.  I have been doing whatever I can to make sure his recovery will be successful.  He is supposed  to not go to work physically because he is in construction so instead he is on his computer working like always instead of resting.                                                                                                                                                    -Nkiyasi Helm

                             Today I had an O.K day not the best, but it was O.K.  Not much to say because all I did was basically clean and organize my room.  I have school tomorrow.  I can't believe time went by so quickly.  I like school and I like to learn, but it is nice to have a break every once and a while.  I really wanted my best friend to come over but she moved to a different school and I have not seen her since, and that makes me feel a bit sad.

                                 I can not wait till my birthday! I am very excited, the present I want is a Black Apple i Pod generation 4. If I get that I would be very overjoyed!  On Monday we are going back to school and I am very excited, I can not wait to go back and learn more, but I still have to finish reading my AR book.  I plan to start writing a series of books for little boys soon  Stay Tuned!

                          This break so far has been OK many family-friends have come over, we had a good time. I have gotten through many chapters of the book I have been reading over break.  I also have a math packet due that I need to finish on Algebra, Histograms, line plots and more.   So I have many things to do to keep me busy, plus I need to organize my closet ..................................AGAIN including folding clothes and organizing shoes! I changed my room around so I might as well do it anyway. Guess what?  My birthday is in less than a month 23 days to be exact, so I am very excited.

                             I had a wonderful weekend! My best friend came over and we had a wonderful time together.  It was nice to see her again because I haven't seen her in 2 years! We were friends since 3rd grade.  Plus to make it even better Friday we did not have school and all next week we are on break!

                             Today I had a pretty good day.  I got 100% on my reading test and I am pretty confident I also got an A on my grammar test.  Remember that writing contest I entered, well I didn't win but that's OK all I can do is try my best.  I started reading a new series called "The Benedict Society" by Trenton Lee Stewart.  So far it is an exceptional book but I still have a tremendous amount  of pages I still need to read.  I cant wait to see what happens next though!

                    Remember the event I told you about yesterday at Eagle Village.  Well it went great!  I had such a wonderful time it is a beautiful place that helps kids. Today when I went back to school and now I have a ton of work to do since I missed school.  My new all time favorite singer is Tracy Chapman. Guess what?  Today students in my 6th grade classrooms loved my books they just kept admiring me and Bully A Bully With Love.  My best seller!   I kept it humble with the compliments that people gave to me.  Today was a wonderful day I hope you had one too.

                      Today I got feed back from one of the teachers at my school he told me that his 6th grade students loved my book Bully A Bully With Love.  When he told the students who wrote the book they were AWED! They really enjoyed it and that made me feel very Proud of myself!  Tomorrow is a party day for The Example of Excellence people! I am one of them. The AWESOMENESS continues.

    Today I had a wonderful day!  Though sometimes I feel that nobody understands me or nobody is listening, but I know that I always have my family.  Today in school we learned about homophones and double bar graphs I flew right through it!  I love school, when I got home I relaxed in my room did homework and listened to Bob Marley (another one of my favorite singers) and just relaxed with my family and stayed warm and cozy reading to my baby sister.

                    Hiya, yesterday was the best day of my life!  first of all I was on a world renowned radio station called "The Reading Circle with Marc Medley!" It went Perfectly and I had a great time too.  Then afterwards we had a very special dinner, since I accomplished so much my mother made our favorite dinner.  I have discovered another one of my favorite singers..............ANGIE STONE she has such a wonderful voice more people should check her out.  This summer I am going to Leadership Camp for Two weeks in Kentucky how AWESOME is that?

               Today I had an awesome day I made it to the 6th grade Geography bee but I didn't win and that's OK the only thing I could do was my best!  I have such wonderful fiends they cheered me right on to the finish even though I did not win they gave me a thumbs up and a pat on the back.  This week I have been very busy so this weekend I am not going to stress I am just going to relax and listen to Maxwell!

                          This week I am extremely busy I have a million tests on Friday and have two packets of homework plus I have to get 100 A.R points within 5 weeks and I only have 20, so I have to get to work. But the good thing is that we are working on Geology in science which is fun but the videos we are supposed to watch in school didn't work so basically our whole science lesson was canceled.  We are learning about Igneous rocks Sedimentary rocks and Metamorphic rocks 6th grade science is super fun!  I am also very happy because the writing contest I entered, the results are coming in February!

                                        Whats up everybody?  today Most of the day all I did was organize my closet.  But this morning I made a a snow women it took a while but when I was finish it was a satisfying sight.  Most of the people in their car stared at it.  The snow women name is Bohule her eyes are made of potatoes her nose is a baby carrot and her mouth is a stick that is curved upward it makes her look a bit devious but I like her and so did my mom and dad. Today was no school for me because of the snow, it was a snow day! :)

  Today my cousin took us sledding it was AWESOME!  Except for the few times I fell on my face and got snow in my boots:)  Today I also cleaned my bedroom and played school with my brother, I kept watching the video of my performance over and over until my father told me to turn it off I didn't though, because I was so proud of myself.  Nkiyasi Helm I played on my tablet and drew pretty much the rest of the day.

Dear Blog,
                       Yesterday I was in a musical called American Voices.  Everybody in the audience enjoyed it! I was not even nervous at all in fact I wanted to do it again again because I had a awesome time there. The lights were on my face and I could smell the stench of the sweat from all the nervous people around me, I just loved the whole thing, it couldn't have been any better I smiled the whole time!  That was an experience I will remember forever.  It is a story I will tell my children and grandchildren one day.

                                     I hope everyone had an awesome weekend I know I did.  Any who today I had my first T.V. interview It was super fun! I am also working on drawing a picture of Cesar Chavez so far I think it looks wonderful. The last picture I drew was Janis Joplin my art teacher, parents and everyone else I showed it to loved it!  Tomorrow -- back to school and my performance is on Thursday but I don't have anything to wear yet so that's stressful.  But  overall I am fine.

              Yesterday the wind blew so hard that I had to sleep on the couch because my room is at the far back of the house and near many trees. Also I changed my room around and now have a big screen T.V in there so my sisters and brother and I can watch movies.

             Today I created my own doll fashion shop and I am making dresses out of old things around the house like clothes, beads, string and yarn. I know how to do this because I taught myself how back when my mom and I use to make dance outfits.  It is very complicated and takes a lot of time.  Have a Breezy Day!

                           Hello everybody! Today I had an awesome day! I started the Harry Potter Series and so far I absolutely love it. I had a spelling and grammar test, I feel pretty confident I did really well. Today I got my progress report and I did really well and got all A's I am very happy because I have worked very hard on my grades this year. The lowest grade I got was an A- .  Plus we do not have school for 4 days because the school is celebrating DR. M .L .K Day.

     I am so happy, today my tablet from England came in the mail.  It is awesome I can not wait until it is finished charging so I can use it again.  It can take pictures, be a phone, play games and so much more!  Today I had practice for the play I am going to be in, it went really well.  The play is next week and my mother is taking me shopping for a dress to wear so I can look fancy.  I am still very nervous about the whole thing though.  A few nights ago I was watching The Cosby Show.  That show is very inspirational to me!  If I could ever meet Dr. Cosby I would just faint, I would be so happy.

     Today I had a good day the school play I am going to be in is on the 24th I can not wait to go!  I know I will Blow everybody away but every single time I have to sing a solo my voice gets crackly because I am kind of nervous singing around people, but I will get over it and do great.  Today I sung karaoke and played with my sister a lot.

                                  Yo, whats up everybody last night I worked extra hard and studied extra hard for a HUGE Social Studies test and I am pretty confident that I aced it.  But what upset  me is that I was on a roll answering the questions and at the last minutes my teacher let us use our text books.  I ended up doing a lot of work for nothing, but there is an advantage to a certain extent I will not forget the things I studied.

Guess what?  I am releasing 3 new books this month Cynthia's Picture Book, Dreams and Locker!  I cant wait to receive feedback from everyone! :)

Whats up?  Today at school I had wonderful time all we did was work, but it was fun.
Tomorrow I have a HUGE social studies test, so I have to read a lot of pages out of my social studies text book.  I hope that all goes well.

I am reading a book call "WRINGER" it is a great fiction book that won the New Berry Honor award.  I hope that I can win an award like that some day. It would be a dream come true!  Sorry I have to cut it short but it is time to study.  Until tomorrow....

                                      Oh,  today I had a wonderful day everything was perfect except the part about me being a couch potato.  Anyway today I played Mine Craft on my computer all day I love Mine Craft it is super fun! My favorite thing to build on Mine Craft is houses and huge kingdoms.  At about 8:40 pm today we got two huge packages in the mail,  I got a lot of  Fashion Angels sketch portfolio packages, that is my favorite brand.  Oh, and did I tell you that I also got the first solo of a group of girls to perform in our school musical.  I cant wait!  We go back to school January 7th.   Well that's all for today.  Bye
